AI dating apps, and the two very different things people mean by that
Search for AI dating apps and you get two products that share almost nothing. One is software for meeting real people: profile writers, opener generators, photograph enhancers, swipe assistants. The other is a relationship you have with the AI itself, sometimes framed as practice, sometimes not framed as anything at all. ClickTug covers the second and not the first, and it is worth being direct about why rather than quietly listing nine companion apps under a heading half the audience read differently. A tool that writes your dating profile is a writing tool. It generates no adult content, it raises none of the questions this directory exists to answer, and listing it here would be the same category error that puts GPU rental in adult AI directories. What follows is the part we can speak to: apps where the relationship is with the model. Every one is compared on published price, retention, training position and what its own terms prohibit, with the date we checked.
What qualifies for this list
- The relationship is with the AI itself, not a tool for contacting real people
- A persistent character that continues across sessions rather than a single exchange
- Publishes terms and a privacy policy at citable URLs
- No credible reporting of the product generating sexual content involving minors
What this page does not cover
Most of the search behind this page is for things ClickTug does not list. Saying so is quicker than letting you scroll a table that was never going to help.
- Dating profile writers and opener generators
- These produce text for a human dating app. They generate no adult content and raise none of the retention, filtering or minor-safety questions this directory measures, so nothing on our fact tables would apply to them.
- Photo enhancers and AI headshot tools for dating profiles
- Image tools aimed at improving a real person's own photographs. Legitimate products, and outside what ClickTug covers, which is generative adult AI.
- Apps that scan dating sites for a partner's profile
- Surveillance products aimed at a specific real person. We will not send traffic to them regardless of category.
- Human dating apps that added AI matching
- The AI is a feature inside a service for meeting real people. The product is still a dating app, and reviewing those is somebody else's job.
The list

Kindroid
The closest thing here to a relationship you practise with, and the only tool in this guide that verifies age through a third party
Companion chat with voice calls and generated selfies, and the strictest age check in this category.

Candy AI
A character you configure and return to, from a named EU company with retention periods stated in years rather than described vaguely
Adult companion chat and images, with the most specific content policy here and no price before signup.

EVA AI
Built for a phone rather than a browser tab, with voice, notifications and the most detailed child safety policy we have assessed
Mobile-first AI companion with the most detailed child safety policy here, priced in the app stores.

AIGirlfriends.ai
Publishes the list of subjects its model refuses, and states that raising one stops both the chat and the calling system
Companion chat with voice calls, a published transparency report and a refusal list the model enforces mid-conversation.

976.ai
Costs nothing to try properly: 20 tokens a day that renew indefinitely and reach the whole character roster
AI companion chat with a real free allowance every day, and terms that specify no governing law.
Trust and terms, side by side
The facts that decide whether to trust a tool rather than whether to try it. Every value is taken from the vendor's own published pages on the date shown on each listing. A blank is never a guess: where a vendor publishes nothing, the cell says so.

Questions people actually ask
What is an AI dating app?
Two unrelated things. One is a tool that helps you meet real people, by writing your profile, suggesting openers or improving your photographs. The other is an app where the relationship is with the AI, sometimes sold as practice for real dating and sometimes not. ClickTug covers the second only, because the first generates no adult content and raises none of the questions this site measures.
Does ClickTug review dating profile generators or rizz apps?
No, and we are unlikely to. A profile writer is a writing tool aimed at a mainstream audience. None of the facts we publish, retention periods, training positions, content filtering, minor-safety policies, would apply to it, so a ClickTug listing would be mostly empty rows. Listing one would repeat the category error we spend most of our screening time rejecting.
Can you practise dating with an AI?
Several products are sold on that premise, and none of the ones we list makes a measurable claim about it. What we can tell you is what each keeps, what each costs and what each prohibits. Whether practising with a model that is designed to agree with you transfers to people who are not is a question this directory has no way to answer, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
Are AI dating apps free?
Some have a real free tier and some advertise one without publishing what it contains. 976.ai gives 20 tokens a day that renew indefinitely. Others offer free access on the homepage while their pricing page lists only paid plans. Each listing records which, and where the vendor's pages disagree with each other we publish both.
Do these apps use my conversations to train their models?
Usually undisclosed. Of the tools in this guide, most do not address training anywhere in their published documents, and our listings record that as not documented rather than assuming an answer. Candy AI is an exception in the other direction: it states it may aggregate and de-identify exchanges to train models, which is more honest than silence.
Every figure on this page comes from the vendor's own pages on the date shown, and each tool's listing links the document it was read from. Something out of date? Tell us. How we check anything is on our methodology page.
